My research group studies the population and community dynamics of terrestrial vertebrates. Primarily we work on small mammals but also forest birds and freshwater turtles. Our work examines the drivers of population fluctuations, the impact of climate and land use on species’ distributions and community dynamics, and how animals impact ecosystem function and resilience. Current projects are in the Great Basin of western North America, Arctic Alaska, and the northern forest of New England.
