Research Emphasis

John Kelley is a research meteorologist and coastal modeler with NOAA/National Ocean Service's Marine Modeling and Analysis Programs within the Coast Survey Development Lab.

His research interests are in the area of coastal meteorology and oceanography and the application of GIS technology to these fields.

He was a UCAR Visiting Scientist in the National Weather Service/NCEP's Ocean Modeling Branch of the Environmental Modeling Center and is currently involved with the development and implementation of NOS' operational numerical ocean forecast models for estuaries, the coastal ocean, and the Great Lakes.
