Research Emphasis

Yuri Rzhanov, with a Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, is a Research Professor in the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping.

Dr. Rzhanov has a very wide range of computing skills and has built a number of applications for higher education that are presently in use at universities around the world.

Most importantly Dr. Rzhanov has been developing models for sonar-seabed interaction for bathymetric and sidescan sonars (including the Klein 2000/5000 systems) as well as software for automatic mosaicking of video imagery and sidescan sonar data.
