Stacia Sower was invited to speak at the International Society of Endocrinology Congress, which was held in Kyoto Japan on March 26-30, 2010. Her talk was entitled “Novel hypothalamic peptides and receptors in a basal vertebrate, the sea lamprey.” In attendance at the opening ceremonies this year were the Emperor and Empress of Japan, a very special honor for this large congress.

Serge Leger discusses his role in the 2010 Spill of National Significance drill in Portland, Maine. Leger, a field manager for the marine aerial reconnaissance team, said the plane behind him, which is based in Monkton, New Brunswick, will be used to monitor the ocean surface for movements of any large oil slick that occurs in the Gulf of Maine.
