The School of Marine Science and Ocean Engineering offers MS and PhD programs in Oceanography, Ocean Engineering and Marine Biology in partnership with the appropriate colleges and departments at UNH. In addition, graduate students in social science, biological science and engineering with marine interests often pursue graduate degrees outside of the School while working with School faculty and using School facilities.
The School, in conjunction with the Department of Earth Science, offers an MS in Earth Science with options in oceanography and ocean mapping and a PhD in oceanography (Physical, Chemical, Biological and Geological).
The School, in conjunction with the Ocean Engineering Program, offers programs leading to the PhD and MS in ocean engineering. The MS also offers an Ocean Mapping Option in conjunction with the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping/Joint Hydrographic Center.
The faculty of the School are currently developing MS and PhD degree programs in marine biology in conjunction with the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture. At this point, students wishing to pursue MS and PhD degrees in marine biology undertake degree programs in Biological Sciences, Natural Resources and Environment (NRESS PhD Program) and Molecular, Cellular & Biomedical Sciences.
