Great Bay Coast Watch
The Great Bay Coast Watch (GBCW) is a citizen monitoring program that was founded in 1990 and is supported by UNH Cooperative Extension and NH Sea Grant Program outreach. The Great Bay Coast Watch is run by citizen volunteers, dedicated to protecting the long-term health and natural resources of New Hampshire’s coastal waters and estuarine systems through monitoring and education projects.
GBCW is the most wide-ranging program in New Hampshire for direct citizen involvement in monitoring estuarine waters. GBCW includes adults from many occupations, as well as teachers and students from local schools.
