Coastal Geology Personnel
Due to the close ties among physical, biological and chemical processes in nearshore and estuarine systems, scientific research requires inter-disciplinary approaches. Consequently, the coastal geology program interacts with a variety of other programs at Jackson Estuarine Laboratory and throughout the University. In addition, the Coastal Geology Program is heavily involved with education and includes graduate and undergraduate students in most projects. Most recent personnel interacting with Coastal Geology program include the following.

Larry Ward

Larry Ward        Research Associate Professor of Earth Sciences - Coastal Geologist

• Geomorphologic, sedimentologic and stratigraphic relationships of coastal, estuarine and shelf systems
• Holocene development of coastal systems
• Impact of climate change and sea level rise (past and future) on coastal systems
• Seafloor characterization and mapping
• Environmental monitoring

Debra Brewitt

Debra Brewitt        Laboratory and Field Technician

• Computing and data management
• Shipboard operations

Jeffrey Rogers

Jeffrey Rogers        Ph.D. Student in NRESS
